Laura is the director of the firm’s planning and landscape architecture group. She joined Johnson Engineering in 2004 to lead the planning services in the firm’s Collier County office and is now the Department Director for all planning and landscape architecture efforts for Johnson Engineering. Laura manages projects that involve development feasibility studies, governmental coordination, preparation and presentation of land use and zoning applications, site planning, master planning, and design. She has 20 years of professional experience in the planning field, in both the public and private sector. Prior to joining Johnson Engineering, Laura served five years as a planner for the City of Naples.

Dave has been associated with Johnson Engineeringsince 2005, when he joined the firm’s utility group. Since joining Johnson Engineering, David has become a project manager for various projects. In the past he has specialized in hydraulic analysis for water, wastewater and irrigation systems. Modeling has become an essential tool in predicting any effects of future infrastructure on existing facilities along with efficiently analyzing deficiencies within the existing system. In addition to modeling, David’s responsibilities include:managing projects and designing utilities for various developments and municipalities in Southwest Florida, permitting of projects through local and state agencies, and overseeing projects throughout construction and closeout phases.

Dave joined Johnson Engineering’s utility team in 2005. Since that time, David has become a project manager for various projects. Matt has been with Johnson Engineering since 2000 and has more than four decades of experience in the field of surveying. Matt became a partner of Johnson Engineering in 2005 and is the firm’s Director of Survey and Mapping. He has performed surveys for the public and private sector of Southwest Florida for many years. Matt has performed surveys for large landowners such as Babcock, Kitson Partners, United States Sugar Corporation, Hilliard Brothers of Florida, ALICO, McDaniel Ranch, Bob Paul, Inc. and Bonita Bay Group. Surveys included boundary surveys, topographic surveys, route/right-of-way surveys, construction layout and control surveys. He was born and raised in Hendry County and has a thorough working knowledge of Southwest Florida.

Ryan serves as the director of the transportation group and is a shareholder of the company. With a degree in civil engineering from the University of Florida, Ryan was born and raised in Southwest Florida giving him a keen understanding and inherent appreciation for local transportation issues. Ryan has experience in both the design and construction of various transportation improvement projects. As project manager for various transportation design and CEI projects, such as the Six Mile Cypress widening design, S.R. 31 widening design and the Three Oaks Parkway/Imperial Street CEI, he brings comprehensive management and oversight to all of Johnson Engineering’s transportation projects.

Dana joined Johnson Engineering in 1989 and has more than three decades of civil engineering experience. During his time with the firm, Dana has overseen residential, commercial, educational, and institutional projects. In addition to managing the development department in Lee County since 2005, his responsibilities include being the project manager and professional engineer for all phases of development, including site planning, infrastructure design, government agency permitting, quality control, construction administration and contributing to LEEDs credits while continually coordinating with his clients, consultants, and team members to meet the client’s vision, goals, and schedule.

Laura joined the firm in 2000 and serves as director of the firm’s environmental consulting team, whose ecologists have more than 100 years of combined experience. As a certified ecologist, her duties include State and Federal wetland jurisdictional determinations, protected species surveys, habitat and species management plans, coordination and permitting with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), FWS Biological Assessments and Biological Opinions, wetland/listed species mitigation proposals and mitigation monitoring, Environmental Resource Permit and Federal Dredge and Fill applications, as well as follow-through to permit issuance and post-permit compliance. She is also an FWC Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent, Federal Aviation Administration Qualified Wildlife Biologist, and FWS qualified caracara observer with over 1,600 hours of caracara survey experience and 40 nests found to date.

Mike joined Johnson Engineering in 1999 and serves as the firm’s director of the utilities market group. His project experience on utility projects includes master planning, hydraulic modeling, design of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, irrigation systems, and pumping facilities. Prior to joining Johnson Engineering, Mike worked for a local utility contractor which gave him a unique perspective of how the utilities he designs today come together in the field. With both utility design and construction experience, Mike has a comprehensive understanding of the entire utility development process from planning to design, to permitting through construction. He knows how to develop a design that works both in theory and in practice.

Andy joined Johnson Engineering in 1978 and is the director of the Water Resources Group. He is the office manager for the LaBelle office. Andy is currently providing quality control on the projects under design and permitting for the Bluehead Town of Fort Myers Beach and recently completed engineering design of the Jack’s Branch Mitigation Bank.

Andy was District Engineer for Babcock Ranch Community Independent Special District and has been the engineer of record for several districts, which are special governments under the laws of the State of Florida. Work within the districts includes annual inspections of water management facilities for the annual report required under Chapters 189, 190 and 298 Regulations and annual certifications as required by the Water Management District permit. Experience with these special governments is very similar to working for a city or county.

Kevin joined Johnson Engineering in 1986 as a civil engineer with responsibilities for all phases of utility, drainage and road design. He became a partner in the firm in 1992 and is the firm’s Chairman of the Board and director of development services. Kevin has served as project manager for many of the firm’s larger projects.

Kim joined Johnson Engineering in 2005 and is a hydrogeologist in the company’s water resources group. She is responsible for performing groundwater modeling, hydrogeologic investigations, water resource assessments, aquifer performance testing, hydrologic monitoring program development, and water management district water use and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) permitting. Additionally, Kim has worked on Public Service Commission (PSC) utility certification cases, comprehensive plan amendment applications and Development of Regional Impact (DRI) applications for large-scale developments. She is familiar with the hydrogeology of Southwest Florida and regulatory requirements. Kim joined Johnson Engineering with 2.5 years of previous experience as a hydrogeologist with the SFWMD, where she reviewed over 500 water use permit applications.

Matt has been with Johnson Engineering since 2000 and has more than four decades of experience in the field of surveying. Lonnie began working for Johnson Engineering in 1994 after completing the University of Florida’s graduate program in groundwater and open channel hydraulics. His dedication and leadership enabled him to be elected President of the firm in 2012. Under his direction, the firm has continued to successfully exceed its target revenue, profit, and business growth objectives. This success is based in part to Lonnie’s relentless commitment to client satisfaction and out-of-the-box strategies to improve efficiency. In addition to running the overall operations of the firm, Lonnie is a professional engineer that also works alongside the firm’s groundwater resources team. He has extensive experience in hydrogeological investigations, well construction, wellfield design, groundwater modeling, dewatering plans, deep injection wells, water supply planning, and water use permitting. He has worked on numerous projects for municipalities, utilities, private developers, and agricultural clients. Lonnie has also provided expert testimony before hearing examiners related to zoning cases and before the Governor’s cabinet pertaining to water supply and hydrogeology at the Babcock Ranch.

Paul began working for Johnson Engineering in November 2000 as an engineering technician and now serves as a senior Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analyst. He is a certified GIS Professional, with a large portion of his work effort being devoted to GIS specialization including analysis, map production, data setup and management, integration of GIS and GPS hardware/software and development of web-based GIS mapping applications. Paul assisted Johnson Engineering in obtaining the ArcGIS Online Specialty certification. Paul is knowledgeable in a variety of GIS and CAD applications, including: ArcGIS Desktop, Modelbuilder, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS iPhone/Android apps and Autodesk Map. Paul administers the company’s SQL Server-based GIS relational database. He is familiar with several scripting and programming languages such as Python, VBScript, Javascript, SQL and Visual Basic. Paul also prepares agency permit drawings, processes remotely sensed data such as aerial photographs, processes UAV (drone) photographs and works with land use information.

Mark has been with Johnson Engineering since 2005 when he joined the firm’s utility group. Mark is an engineer who specializes in hydraulic modeling and analysis for water, wastewater, and irrigation systems. As part of hydraulic modeling, Mark has developed long-term flow projections, developed custom data analysis tools, and presented recommendations to clients. Mark also has experience with utility design and permitting, including pipelines and pumping stations.

Billy has been with Johnson Engineering since 2015. He is a utility engineer and works on projects with all branch offices of Johnson Engineering. Billy’s experience includes work on a variety of utility, water resource, and land development projects. Billy has experience working in our utilities group where he is responsible for such tasks as data collection and analysis, FDOT utility coordination, pump station design, underground utilities layout, hydraulic modeling and calculations, quantity/construction cost estimates, plan production, permitting, coordination with outside consultants, and on-site construction inspection. While most of his experience thus far has been with municipal projects, he has completed various tasks for commercial and residential projects as well.

Wyatt joined Johnson Engineering in 2015 and is a hydrogeologist in the company’s water resources group. He is responsible for performing hydrogeologic investigations, aquifer performance testing (APT), groundwater sampling and testing, monitoring well construction and geophysical logging programs, preparing lithologic descriptions and stratigraphic profiles, analyzing and interpreting geophysical and APT data, and regulatory permitting. He is familiar with the hydrogeology of Southwest Florida and regulatory requirements. Wyatt joined Johnson Engineering after completing a Master’s degree in Geology at the University of South Florida with a focus on hydrogeology and groundwater geochemisty, and with 6 years of previous experience as a geologist and project manager performing geotechnical investigations related to ground settlement throughout Florida.

Ryan joined Johnson Engineering in 2005. He works on a variety of land development and planning projects, including site design, site grading, drainage system layout, underground utilities layout, earthwork calculations, construction cost estimates, plan production, permitting, coordinating with outside consultants, on-site construction inspection, and master concept plans. His experience thus far includes institutional, healthcare, commercial, single and multi-family, industrial and sports complex projects.

Debi joined Johnson Engineering in 1996, and currently works as the development project coordinator and project manager within the firm’s development group, providing a wide range of development and planning services. Prior to joining Johnson Engineering, Debi worked for the Lee County Zoning Department as a Planning Assistant. Her responsibilities included superior knowledge of the various zoning and land use codes, including how to apply and interpret regulations for various situations in conjunction with the general public, consulting firms, land use attorneys and county staff inquiries. She was able to establish a strong working relationship county staff and the development community.

Jared joined Johnson Engineering in 2011 as a project manager and is responsible for the day to day operations of the Naples office. A resident of Collier County since 1999, Jared has worked on a wide range of projects in and around Naples. He has worked with non-profits, local municipalities, developers, architects, engineers and contractors on multiple simultaneous projects. Serving as the point of contact for clients, project design teams and sub-consultants. Jared has been responsible for project management, civil design, drawing preparation, specifications and construction observation for commercial, institutional and residential projects. Including project engineer for utility and roadway infrastructure at Ave Maria and project manager for the development of the Naples Botanical Garden.

Chris joined Johnson Engineering in 2006 and is the branch manager of our Charlotte County office. His relevant experience includes years of managing civil engineering projects of all scopes and scales, including stormwater, utilities, transportation, aviation, and land development for both public and private clientele. During his time in Port Charlotte, Chris has provided leadership for several Charlotte County capital projects including stormwater, parks and transportation projects. He can take a project from conception to as-built performing or managing the multiple disciplines needed to bring a project together. He has a diverse background in permitting and agency (Federal, State and local) compliance. He has represented projects and clients in a variety of public processes and led community involvement in meetings. He is a Charlotte County resident living in Deep Creek.

Mark joined Johnson Engineering in 2017 as a Senior Landscape Designer. His experience in technology, certification as an ISA Arborist, Florida Master Naturalist and former masonry construction business owner, inform his designs and contribute to the success of challenging projects. He brings with him a diverse set of skills that allow him to confidently take projects of a range of scales, from concept to completion, while meeting functional constraints and incorporating creative solutions. Mark has worked in Florida since 2004 as a Landscape Architect in both the private and public sector. Mark’s past projects include Florida located private residential, roadways, municipal parks and streetscapes, greenway designs, and environmental restoration.

Jordanne joined Johnso Engineering in 2016. She serves as a designer in the planning and landscape architecture group. After receiving her B.S. in Architectural Studies at the University of Technology, Jamaica, Jordanne joined Johnson Engineering full time in 2016.

As a student of architecture, she was also employed full time at a landscape design and construction firm and was involved in numerous types of projects including site planning and landscape design for roadways, parks, residential and commercial complexes, resorts, community gardens, and site mapping, utilizing skills like existing site observation and documentation, team and client meetings, report writing, conceptual design, and presentation.

Kyle a Florida native who joined Johnson Engineering in 2018 as an environmental technician in the Environmental group. He routinely conducts listed species surveys, vegetation monitoring, wetland delineations, environmental assessments and report preparation. Before joining Johnson Engineering, Kyle worked for Biotech Consulting Firm in Orlando for approximately four years following his high school graduation. Kyle initially served as an exotic vegetation maintenance technician within environmentally sensitive wetland mitigation areas and later gained valuable experience conducting bald eagle monitoring, gopher tortoise surveys and relocations in accordance with applicable state and federal protocols.

Dr. Korn joined Johnson Engineering in 2017 as wildlife biologist. She has extensive experience working with the federally endangered Florida panther, other protected species, as well as coordinating with federal and state agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private landowners. She has given close to 100 outreach presentations to both professional organizations and the public on land management and living with panthers. She has been a certified wildland firefighter and is currently a certified burn boss in the State of Florida. She has authored almost $50,000 in research grants for her work on ocelots in Texas and received $5,000 in remote camera equipment funds for panthers from the Brevard Zoo. She provides clients with wildlife surveys, GIS analyses, habitat management plans, vegetation mapping, and wetland jurisdictional determinations. Dr. Korn is also an adjunct professor in natural resources at South Florida State College.

Greg joined Johnson Engineering as an ecologist in 2015. He is a Certified Associate Ecologist with the Ecological Society of America (ESA) and focuses on permitting with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), as well as post-permit compliance monitoring. As part of this work, Greg routinely conducts protected species surveys, vegetation and habitat mapping, wetland delineation, wetland functional assessments, piezometer installation and oversight, and crested caracara and bald eagle monitoring. Greg is a Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Authorized Gopher Tortoise Agent and is permitted to oversee mechanical excavation of tortoise burrows.

Gary worked with Johnson Engineering from 2004 through 2006 as an ecologist. He rejoined the Johnson Engineering team in 2015. His duties include vegetation mapping, wildlife surveys, track surveys, protected species management plans, wetland jurisdictional delineations, and wetland preserve mitigation monitoring. Gary works closely with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FFWCC), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Lee County Port Authority, as well as local city and county government agencies.

David a Fort Myers native who joined Johnson Engineering in January2017 as an instrument tech with the survey department.He then transferred into the environmental department in September 2017 assisting the project managers on species surveys, vegetation surveys, wetland delineations, monitoring, and reports. David is aCertified FAA drone pilot providing the firm and clients with aerial observation/reconnaissance for marketing and monitoring of project construction.

David joined Johnson Engineering in 2013 as a Certified Senior Ecologist. David is also a Research Associate and Courtesy Graduate Faculty member at the Florida Gulf Coast University. David has three decades of professional experience in limnology, aquatic and wetland ecology, fish, wildlife, macroinvertebrate, and water quality studies. David was trained in the QA/QC protocols for State and Federal agencies (for drinking water, ambient water quality, extractions, bacteriological, bio-assay, radon, and bio-assessments) as Aquatic Biologist at Lee County and as Limnologist at the University of Iowa. David assisted in the implementation of a bacteriological source identification study of the Philippi Creek watershed for Sarasota County. As a member of the Johnson Engineering team, David routinely conducts benthic resource surveys, wetland delineations and functional assessments, mitigation monitoring, listed species surveys (inclusive of caracara and Florida bonneted bat) and permitting of aquatic restoration projects.

Kevin joined Johnson Engineering in 2001 and his surveying experience includes control, boundary, topographic, route, hydrographic, construction, GPS, elevation certificates and mortgage surveys. He has years of field experience as a survey crew chief, as well as a survey technician and has been licensed as a P.S.M since 2003. Kevin serves as project manager on hydrographic, boundary, design and construction projects.

Rickjoined Johnson Engineering as a survey technician in 2013after 18 years of surveying in the public and private sector, working in the field and office. He started in the U.S. Army as a construction surveyor. He is currently a certified survey technician, Level III and proficient in AutoCad. He has earned a General A.A. degree from Edison State College,a B.A. degree in Geography from the University of South Florida,and became a licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper in 2019. During his time with Johnson Engineering, Rick has performed many services for our clients including: ALTA/ACSM surveys, subsurface utility engineering surveys, right-of-way mapping, topographic surveys, preparation of easement and parcel descriptions, digital terrain modeling, preparation of subdivision plats, and preparation of construction calculations.

Guy joined Johnson Engineering in 2017. He has more than four decades of experience and is thoroughly familiar with many aspects of the Surveying and Mapping profession. He worked his way up thru the ranks performing a wide variety of surveys. Drawing on his vast field experience, he is responsible for projects including, but not limited to, boundary and topographic surveys, platting, hydrographic surveys, sketch and legal descriptions.

Mark joined Johnson Engineering in 2016 and has more than three decades of experience in the field of surveying throughout Florida. His experience includes projects in Lee, Charlotte, Collier, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Okeechobee, Sarasota and Miami-Dade counties. He has performed surveys for the public and private sector of Southwest Florida for many years including, large boundary and topographic surveys, control for aerial photogrammetric and LiDAR on large scale mapping projects, design surveys for both the land development and transportation sectors, mean high water surveys, preparation of legal descriptions and sketches, condominium surveys and exhibits, preparation of plats, as-built and record surveys, various construction survey projects, mapping of jurisdictional wetland lines and route surveys for large scale utility projects.

Mark joined Johnson Engineering in 2004 and is the field crew supervisor for our surveying and mapping team. He bringsmore than three decades of land surveying experience ranging from a rodman on a survey crew to the owner of a land surveying business, with an emphasis on construction surveying. Mark has worked extensively on construction sites and numerous boundary surveys ranging from one-quarter acre lots to 10,000-acre tracts.

Leah currently serves as a transportation engineer in our transportation group. Leah graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2012, with her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. With her primary focus on signal design, traffic impact analysis, roadway and lighting design, quantity takeoffs and cost estimations, Leah understands what must be done to successfully plan for and design roadway projects to serve both the clients and publics needs.

Joe joined Johnson Engineering in 2019 after working in the public sector for several years. Even though Joseph is the newest member to Johnson Engineering’s Transportation Department, he brings a wide range of skills to the project team with experience in transportation, development,public works, permitting,long range planning, and utilities. His main work functions include traffic data analysis, roadway design, quantity take-offs, and plan production.

Jessica joined Johnson Engineering in 2019. She serves as an engineer intern in the transportation group.With her primary focus on roadway design, traffic impact analysis, quantity analysis and cost estimations, Jessica understands what must be done to successfully plan for and design roadway projects to serve both the clients and public’s needs.

Vee has 30 years of experience working on FDOT and County transportation projects located in District One, Four and Five, including five years with the Florida Department of Transportation Maintenance and Construction combined. He has worked on a wide variety of transportation improvement projects with varying degrees of complexity as project administrator, contract support specialist and senior lead inspector. Vee currently holds, and is continuing to seek and renew, numerous certifications in the Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) qualifications as required by FDOT and FHWA. Vee is director of the CEI team. His extensive experience extends through all facets of roadway and bridge construction, project administration, and inspection in both traditional design-bid-build and design-build.

Kathy joined Johnson Engineering in 2010. She has of diversified experience in office management and construction administration, including contract support for CEI projects in Lee, Collier, and Hendry Counties. Kathy specializes in construction documentation management including coordinating submittals, RFI’s, estimates, meetings, contract changes, CPM schedule variance reviews, subcontractor documentation, letter composition, and EDMS attributing. Her additional experience includes more than 15 years in management for the automotive industry.

John joined Johnson Engineering in 2000. He is a CEI senior inspector/project administrator. He also provides project administrator support duties. He has worked on various projects throughout Southwest Florida and is familiar with the design and permitting procedures of the local municipalities as well as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). John’s primary experience includes EEO, field inspection, drilled shaft installations, utility coordination and inspection including construction engineering and inspection (CEI) of transportation improvement projects. He has served as project administrator and contract support specialist. This wide range of experience provides John a firm understanding of the overall process involved with transportation improvement projects from inception to final completion.

Roy joined Johnson Engineering in 1987 working as rodmen in the surveying group. In 1988, he was transferred to the firm’s transportation group as a construction inspector. Roy is a CEI project administrator with more than threedecades of experience working on FDOT and County Transportation Projects located in District One. He has worked on a wide variety of transportation and utiltiy improvement projects with varying degrees of complexity as project administrator, contract support specialist, and senior lead inspector. Roy currently holds, and is continuing to seek and renew, numerous certifications in the Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) qualifications as required by FDOT and FHWA. Roy currently serves the firm as project administrator and is a multidiscipline person who can perform and fit in and adapt in many work related roles.

John joined Johnson Enghineering in 2012 and currently serves as an assistant project administrator and senior inspector in our transportation group. John’s experience includes both design and CEI on various projects throughout Lee, Hendry, Glades and Charlotte counties. Serving as design engineer and senior inspector on many of these projects has given John an understanding of what it takes to successfully complete both the design and construction phases of a project.

Brent joined Johnson Engineering in 2003 and earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering. As an engineer intern, he worked in our Water Resources and Land Development departments, Brent is familiar with many of the facets of design, management and construction of engineering projects. In 2008, Brent left the company to pursue a job in his hometown of Perry, FL, working with the engineering division of the Taylor County Board of County Commissioners. Working directly with the County Engineer, Brent gained a wide variety of engineering skills and knowledge in many different areas of design, regulatory permitting, document preparation, contract administration, and construction inspection and management. He re-joined Johnson Engineering in 2015.

Brent’s experience as an engineer includes site design, infrastructure, road design and construction, SFWMD, FDEP, and ACOE permitting and certification, and construction administration. He routinely prepares plans and specifications for projects that require a unique approach. Brent’s technical background and practical experience allows him to handle most situations. He has worked on numerous projects from small recreational parks to multi-million-dollar construction projects and is accustomed to developing clear and concise plans and specifications required for public bidding and construction projects to minimize unnecessary addenda and change orders.

Phil is the branch manager of the firm’s Lutz/Land O’Lakes office. He has been a project manager on various projects throughout Southwest and West Central Florida, as well as outside of Florida. He is familiar with the design and permitting procedures of the local municipalities as well as the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD), Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Phil’s primary experience as a Project Manager includes peer review and design and permitting of public sector projects. He is a former public sector employee whose experience includes public meetings, working with city/county attorneys and various other staff, presenting to boards/committees, site plan permit reviews, infrastructure analyses, cost estimates, feasibility studies, preparing bid documents and responding to public inquiries.

Jeff joined Johnson Engineering in 2012 as a principal landscape architect. He brings a versatile skill set and a reputation built on providing the highest quality of service to both public and private sector clients with on-time and on-budget deliverables. Having worked in both the public and private sector, Jeff brings a broad range of experience to apply in practice, using an innovative management approach to guide projects from the planning and design phase, through permitting, development and construction.

Jeff joined Johnson Engineering in 2012 as a principal landscape architect. He brings a versatile skill set and a reputation built on providing the highest quality of service to both public and private sector clients with on-time and on-budget deliverables. Having worked in both the public and private sector, Jeff brings a broad range of experience to apply in practice, using an innovative management approach to guide projects from the planning and design phase, through permitting, development and construction.

In 2007, Josh began his professional career and has since served as a team member in the transportation services division at Johnson Engineering. He has worked on various projects throughout Southwest Florida and is familiar with traffic studies, supervision of traffic data collection,roadway design, pathway design, construction, and the permitting procedures of the local municipalities. Josh has worked on 100+ traffic / construction feasibility-related engineering studies, roadway and drainage design projects within public right-of-way. This experience provides him with a unique understanding of the development of corridor and intersection design, parking demand, traffic generation, ADA compliance-related challenges, and the permitting requirements on both private and public capital improvement projects.

Vee joined Johnson Engineering in 2008 and is the Director of the Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team. His experience includes working on FDOT and County transportation projects located in District One, Four and Five, including five years with the Florida Department of Transportation Maintenance and Construction combined. He has worked on a wide variety of transportation improvement projects with varying degrees of complexity as project administrator, contract support specialist and senior lead inspector. Vee currently holds, and is continuing to seek and renew, numerous certifications in the Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP) qualifications as required by FDOT and FHWA. His extensive experience extends through all facets of roadway and bridge construction, project administration, and inspection in both traditional design-bid-build and design-build. Vee specializes in document control for both quality assurance and quality control testing. His previous experience as a consultant program manager with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) gives him a unique perspective of the bidding process, construction techniques utilized, as well as an understanding of the maintaining agency’s needs.

Abe joined Johnson Engineering in 2014 and has been working as an Environmental Scientist since 2015. In this position, he has led surface water and groundwater sampling for a myriad of water quality projects in southwest Florida. Abe received training from FDEP on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for surface water, groundwater, and drinking water. Abe’s continued efforts include water quality sampling for the City of Sanibel NPDES Surface Water monitoring, City of Bonita Springs Water Quality monitoring, Collier County Gordon River Water Quality Park (Freedom Park), as well as numerous others in South Florida. Abe has also assisted in Protected and Endangered Species Surveys for the Babcock Ranch Development. In addition, he has contributed to numerous Phase I Environmental Site Assessments within south Florida.

Abe has performed many Phase I ESA’s on several types of properties including active and inactive mines, large agricultural lands, operating airports, auto repair shops, gas stations, strip malls, vacant lots, commercial, and residential properties. He has been certified by the FAA to operate a small unmanned aircraft system (drone). The drone has assisted in touring large-scale properties and areas that are difficult to access. The view from the drone lets us see and uncover items that might be of interest.

Jess joined Johnson Engineering in 2019 and is an Environmental Scientist in the company’s water resources group. She is responsible for assisting in the applications for water use permits, and dewatering plans and permits. She is also responsible for compiling the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) annual reports, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) updates, and writing reports and performing on site investigations of environmental site assessments and groundwater sampling according to the FDEP Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Jess has completed the training for the Environmental Site Assessments for Commercial Real Estate through ASTM and Florida Stormwater Management Inspector Training through FDEP. She is responsible for assisting in current projects with the water resources team, focusing on groundwater. Previously, Jess worked for Florida Gulf Coast University as a laboratory manager while finishing her master’s degree in Environmental Science. She has taken many courses that gave her the knowledge to perform water quality monitoring, groundwater sampling, and sediment sampling that has helped in her position at Johnson Engineering, Inc.

Jordan joined Johnson Engineering in 2015 and is a Professional Engineer in the company’s Water Resources group. Jordan earned his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University in 2011 and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Missouri S&T in 2009. Jordan’s experience as an engineer includes regional watershed modeling, groundwater modeling, data analysis, hydraulic pipe modeling, observation and analysis of geophysical logging programs, construction inspection, well design, groundwater testing and analysis, water demand calculations, regulatory permitting, surface water design, technical report writing, land surveying, agricultural irrigation system evaluation, engineering due diligence and expert witness engineering reports.

Mike began working for Johnson Engineering in 1984. His responsibilities included construction inspection and materials testing for various agencies including the Federal Aviation Administration, Florida Department of Transportation, Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Charlotte County, Lee County, Big Cypress Basin, and the City of Fort Myers as well as many private construction projects. He is a registered Surveyor and Mapper licensed to practice in the State of Florida.

In 1995, Mike began performing geographic information system (GIS) work for the State of Florida, Bureau of Survey and Mapping. This work included ownership mapping for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s C.A.R.L. land acquisition program, cataloging more than 70,000 parcels slated for purchase by the State of Florida Since then he has overseen many large GIS specific projects as well as continuing to support other efforts in the Water Resource Group at Johnson Engineering. Some of those major surface water efforts include Lee County Surface Water Master Plans in 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1997, The South Lee County Water Management Plan for SFWMD in 1999, and Six Mile Cypress Water Management Plan 1990.

Tim joined Johnson Engineering in 2003 as an environmental scientist. He currently manages water quality monitoring projects for our water resources group. Tim has developed project specific water quality monitoring programs for several of our clients including Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Lee County Natural Resources, Collier County Stormwater, Hendry County, Lee County Port Authority (LCPA), and City of Bonita Springs. His current projects involve testing best management practices (BMPs), total maximum daily load (TMDL) monitoring, stormwater runoff characterization, flow monitoring, and calculating pollutant load reductions. Tim is proficient in Florida Department of Environmental (FDEP) Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for surface water/groundwater sampling, is active in the Florida Stormwater Association (FSA), and has presented project findings at a variety of stormwater conferences. He has also been published in Florida Scientist. In addition, he has completed the Environmental Site Assessment Standards for Commercial Real Estate course and has 5 years of experience providing Phase I and Phase II ESA services for our clients.

Alfredo began his engineering career in 2004 for Bean, Whitaker, Lutz and Kareh, Inc. as a survey rod technician. After receiving his A.S. in Drafting and Design in May 2005, he joined Johnson Engineering, Inc. as a survey CAD technician. Alfredo has eight years of prior survey experience. He is familiar with office and field procedures in surveying/mapping, both conventional and global positioning systems. Alfredo continued his education as a part-time student while transitioning into the engineering department within the company. He earned his B.S.C.E in May 2014 and is currently working in the water resources department. Alfredo works on a variety of projects entailing various disciplines of engineering which include groundwater, utilities, surface water, construction inspection, report writing, and field data collection. Alfredo received his Professional Engineering License from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers in December 2017. Alfredo recently earned his Professional Surveyor and Mapper License from the Florida Board of Professional Surveyors and Mappers in September 2019.

Erik Howard joined Johnson Engineering in December 2003. Erik earned both his Master of Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering degrees from the University of Florida. As an engineer, surveyor, general contractor, plumbing contractor and electrical contractor, Erik is familiar with both the technical and construction side of projects.

Erik’s experience as an engineer includes groundwater modeling, hydraulic pipe modeling, data analysis, utility design, directional drill layout and design, well design, pump station design, treatment facility design, stormwater design, permitting, certification and construction administration. He routinely prepares specialized plans and specifications for projects that require an ‘out-of-the-box’ approach. Erik’s technical background and practical experience allows him to handle most any unique circumstance.

Rick joined Johnson Engineering in 2006. He is a project manager in the firm’s surface water management department. He has designed and permitted surface water management systems for roadway, site development and assorted environmental projects through the South Florida and Southwest Florida Water Management Districts. Rick is a Certified Floodplain Manager and is accomplished in backwater profile modeling for adjustments to FEMA FIRMs. His modeling experience also analyzes water quality for treatment facilities related to municipalities achieving their obligations under the TMDL program.

Wayne has 37 years of experience working as an Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) engineer. His experience includes design and implementation of power, instrumentation, process control, industrial control, systems integration and commissioning, site and process evaluations, SCADA architecture, networking, telemetry, and PLC/HMI/OIT programming. Wayne has provided control panel electrical designs for motor control, instrumentation, low voltage power distribution, lighting, and lightning protection. Wayne has worked on projects with multiple disciplines in project management and project engineering roles managing project scope, schedule and budget from conceptual design through detailed design and construction completion and has provided engineer-of-record and construction observation services.

Gary is a principal planner in the firm’s planning and landscape architecture group. He is a certified planner with 40 years of private and public sector planning experience. Prior to joining Johnson Engineering in 2015, Gary owned his own planning consulting firm for 21 years, specializing in rezonings, site planning, subdivision design, feasibility studies and expert witness testimony. Gary’s responsibilities include preparation of land use and zoning applications, site design, development permitting, community involvement, and project management.

Mike has served as a professional planner since earning his master’s degree in city planning from Georgia Tech in 1997 with a background in zoning, capital improvement programming, land use budgeting, community planning and economic development. Mike has served as the Director of Planning for Collier County for the past seven years and with the County for 17 years, prior to joining Collier County, Mike worked as an entitlement specialist for American Tower. As part of the firm’s planning team, Mike will apply his experience and knowledge of the Florida and local regulatory environment related to growth management, zoning and sustainable development.
